A two day training programme for entrepreneurship development among women was conducted under the joint auspices of Streechetana and Canara Bank on 30th November and 1st December 2007. The programme was held under the guidance and with the co-operation of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmadabad. The workshop was inaugurated by Canara Bank Divisional Manager Sri.D. Rajappan. Smt.P. Janaki, District coordinator of STED was the Chief Guest. Smt. Radha Iyer, President of Streechetana presided over the inaugural function.
The classes were led by Sri.V.S. Sukumaran, Senior faculty at the Entrepreneurship Institute of India. The workshop which was well attended by 40 selected women, focused on cultivating entrepreneurial skills, selection of micro-ventures, organizational aspects of business, market survey, business plans etc. On the 2nd day, the workshop had the participation of two successful women entrepreneurs – Suhrabi of Malabar Gem Palace and Rajasree of Malabar Mushrooms sharing their experiences.
