As part of women empowerment, Streechetana decided to conduct a free coaching class, in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra for 20 candidates of below 29 age group. The inaugural ceremony for this project was conducted on 25th January 2016.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Susheela Nair, now administrator of Malabar Hospital inaugurated the session. She opined that through this training everybody should acquire the patience for achieving economic self-reliance. The function was presided over by Supriya.A.R and Beena Pramod welcomed the gathering for which Kavya Haridas extended vote of thanks. Felicitation speech was delivered by Adv.Sangeetha, Legal advisor cum Psychologist. Training class was led by the Resource person Smt.Muneera Azeez.
The valedictory function of the programme was conducted on 28th March. Main speeker was Streechetana General Secretary Dr. K.S.Jayasree. She insisted to the participants that the training they gained should be directed to achieve income and promised to provide further training on the same, if they require any. President A.R.Supriya chaired the meeting. Smt.P.Maneesha, Lamya Fathima, Kavya Haridas, Treesa Joy and Neja shared their experience. Reshma Reghuveer welcomed the gathering and Dhanya.T proposed vote of thanks.
Students were so thankful to Streechetana for conducting this class as they could learn the art of stitching Sari blouse, Churidar and House Coat within a short span of time.
