As a part of vocational training given for women which aims at their empowerment, we conducted a programme on mushroom cultivation in association with Krishi Vignjan Kendra, Peruvannamoozhi on 29th May 2015. It was a one day programme in which Mr. K.M. Prakash, the Subject Matter Specialist of Krishi Vignjan Kendra, presented both the theory and demonstration classes. He gave awareness on the different species of mushroom, its importance in our daily diet and the different ways to cultivate it commercially. This class helped in providing a wide knowledge to the participants on topics related to mushroom and its importance. A.R Supriya, Dr. K.S.
